Pro Prep Mini Workshop

Hello, aspiring professional dancers! As a supplement to our Pro Prep Workshop which we typically hold in February, we are hosting our second Mini Pro Prep Workshop: Choreography from the Court.

This Workshop has a different format than our past Pro Prep Workshops, as it is designed to mimic a pro dance team rehearsal, with a mock performance at the end.

If you attended this Workshop in July 2024, this one features a NEW ADDITION! Your group performance at the end of class will be professionally filmed by TJ Pye of EmPYEr Films and you will receive that footage.

In this Workshop you will get a taste of what it’s like and what it takes to work on a professional dance team. As a professional dancer in any capacity, you must have the ability to learn choreography quickly, clean it, receive and apply feedback, learn formations and transitions, and be ready to perform in a short amount of time. However, dancers are not often given the chance to practice these skills until we’ve booked the job or made the team, which can leave us feeling overwhelmed and unprepared.

Enter Pro Prep Mini Workshop! This Workshop is designed to mimic a real-life dance team rehearsal. You will gain insight into how a dance team rehearsal might run, and have the opportunity to take a piece of choreography from zero to performance-ready in 3 hours, as if you were on a professional dance team.

As an added bonus, you will be learning choreography that has been performed on an NBA court directly from the Choreographer herself, Ang Bua!
