At the front desk:
“Zach and Jenny, both at check-ins and as instructors, are such a joy to be around. It’s always a great feeling seeing either of their welcoming faces when I arrive for classes. Without exaggeration, I can’t help but smile.”
Zachary DeBevec
Zachary DeBevec (he/him) is a professional actor and dancer based in Central New Jersey. He holds a BA in Theater Performance with a minor in Arts Administration from Rider University and has performed in many theaters in the Philadelphia region.
Some of his credits include: Walnut Street Theatre (Escape to Margaritaville, Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Legally Blonde, Holiday Inn, Matilda, A Funny Thing…Forum), Arden Theatre Company (Gypsy), Delaware Theatre Company and New Light Theatre (Kinky Boots), Bucks County Center for the Performing Arts (Sweet Charity, South Pacific), The Eagle Theatre (A Chorus Line, Pippin), Ocean City Theater Company (Grease, Swinging into the Holidays, Mamma Mia!, Newsies, A Chorus Line, Beauty and the Beast), The Candlelight Theatre (Crazy for You, Hairspray, Funny Girl, Music Man, Legally Blonde). He was also a Pro Dancer in the 2022 6ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade.
He got his start with formal dance training thanks to his best friend (and fellow Powerhouse instructor) Noelle Martone, who took him to his first dance class. He fell in love with dance then and has not stopped taking class since.
Zach is excited to share his knowledge of the theatre industry and help students cultivate their own artistry.
A note from Zachary:
“My class is a safe space for dancers to explore their individuality and cultivate their artistry. I am a huge supporter of ‘Dancer’s Choice,’ meaning that you listen to your body and ask for/choose options in my choreography that are comfortable for you that day to avoid injury or strain. My combos are usually high energy, sassy and fun. Very rarely will I give floorwork or jumps in my combos, and if I do, I will always offer modifications. I like to give tips on style/performance qualities to incorporate to bring the choreography to the next level. And I will almost always do a bad Celine Dion impression at least once a class.”
